Features: After Song Zhiping entered Guizhou Province, he followed the clues provided by the organization to find underground party members along the way, but he failed to connect with most of them, as they were often destroyed by the enemy. The plan to seek help from underground party members fell through. Dejiang County is a mountainous area inhabited by ethnic minorities, and coupled with being unfamiliar with the environment, carrying out underground work was very difficult. In a state of desperation, Xian Zhongyu remembered that he had a relative named Ding Chaozhong, who served as a village head and lived in Zhixiguan in Pingyuan Township, Dejiang County. Although he was a village head, he was relatively honest and had conflicts with the Guomindang. After careful analysis, Song Zhiping and Xian Zhongyu decided to stay at Ding Chaozhong's house and see what happened. They went to Ding's house, and Xian Zhongyu introduced Song Zhiping to Ding Chaozhong: "The gentleman I brought with me is my long-time friend, named Zhang Zhicheng. He is from Guangxi, a college graduate, but was robbed of his business and now has no money. He wanted to come here to find work." Ding Chaozhong agreed to let Song Zhiping stay temporarily at his house and arranged for him to teach at the Village National School. In this way, Song Zhiping settled in a remote mountainous area in Dejiang County. Xian Zhongyu then served as the liaison for the Special Committee and went to various places in northern Guizhou to open up work.
By the spring of 1948, after Song Zhiping became familiar with the surrounding environment and interpersonal relationships, he used an empty room at the Village National School to enroll 12 students who had not passed the entrance exams for junior or senior high school, establishing a tutoring class. Xian Zhongyu also sent his two nephews to the tutoring class for the purpose of making connections. Under the cover of the tutoring class, the headquarters of the northern Guizhou Special Committee began to take shape. Although most of the students were the children of powerful families such as landowners and gentry, due to Song Zhiping's diligent teaching and strict requirements, the students made rapid progress. Additionally, as he taught multiple subjects such as English, Chinese, and mathematics, he demonstrated the talent of an excellent teacher, earning the favor of both students and parents. However, the Guomindang intelligence had long been watching him, an outsider. Soon after, the Dejiang County government of the Guomindang sent someone claiming to be a supervisor to investigate Song Zhiping. After a brief inspection of the classroom, he carefully searched Song Zhiping's bedroom and interrogated him for a long time. Song Zhiping remained smiling and answered fluently, and with his calm demeanor in the face of danger, the other party "relievedly" left. P5
