Taking Hunan Province as an example: In 2005, over 250 people participated in the provincial drum kit examination; while the total number of participants in the Fourth Hunan Province Jazz Drum Competition exceeded 500. This shows that more and more children and teenagers in Hunan are interested in and learning to play drum kits. In 2004, the first Golden Melody Festival was initiated and organized by the Propaganda Department of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Provincial Federation of Literature and Art, and the Provincial Music Association. Competitions were held separately for various vocal and instrumental music, and after the final rounds, eighteen contestants participated in the final grand finale. The author then quickly compiled this drum kit solo collection II—The Two Tigers. This collection includes arrangements of familiar Chinese and foreign songs, as well as children's rhymes and animation music that are convenient for beginners to practice. There are also arrangements of famous orchestral works from China and abroad, as well as solo pieces adapted from electronic game network music and music from American blockbusters. As an experiment, several solo pieces were also transplanted from other works. These pieces have different styles and moods, each with their own unique characteristics.
