Features: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a shining pearl of Chinese traditional culture and a unique flower in the world of medicine. Over thousands of years, the Chinese people have accumulated rich experience in their continuous struggle against diseases, forming a distinctive TCM culture. It has not only benefited the Chinese people but also crossed the oceans to be accepted by people worldwide. TCM primarily uses Chinese herbal medicine to treat illnesses and injuries. Compared to Western medicine, Chinese herbal medicine has its own unique characteristics: it is derived from nature, has significant efficacy, minimal side effects, and offers better prevention and treatment for common and chronic diseases. It can effectively enhance the human body's immune and self-regulating abilities. More importantly, it plays a unique role in treating difficult and complex conditions that Western medicine cannot address. At the same time, most Chinese herbal medicines are widely distributed and easily sourced, with simple applications. A few common plants found in fields and gardens can alleviate patients' suffering, which holds special significance for the rural population. To inherit and develop this valuable national heritage of TCM and better serve public health, we have extensively collected information from various sources and meticulously compiled this herbal book. This book provides detailed introductions to over 300 common Chinese herbal medicines, covering aspects such as morphological characteristics, growth environments, and properties and efficacy, making it convenient for people to identify and use them in daily life. Additionally, it selects over 3,000 folk remedies and secret formulas widely circulated and proven effective, aiming to ensure targeted and precise application. Due to the compilers' limited expertise, and given the vastness of Chinese herbal medicine, omissions are inevitable. We sincerely hope the readers will criticize and correct any errors and offer valuable guidance. During the editing and publishing process of this book, we were fortunate to receive the review and correction by Professor Cui Zhaolin of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to him for his support.
