Why is it that every time I have my period, it comes a week early?

Patient's question:

I used to have pretty regular periods, with a variation of no more than 2 days before or after. For the past three months, they've been coming a week early each time. I asked a doctor about it earlier, and the doctor said a variation of 7 days is normal. I don't feel that's right—this is so consistent, it's always early. Plus, I'm preparing to have a baby?

Doctor's answer:

Hello:
Blood-Heat Type:
1. Excess-Heat Type: Menstruation occurs prematurely, with a large volume, dark red or purple color, and thick, sticky texture, containing blood clots. Accompanied by irritability, flushed face, dry mouth, short, yellow urine, and dry, hard stools. The tongue is red with a yellow coating, and the pulse is rapid. Treatment should focus on clearing heat, cooling blood, and regulating menstruation to stop bleeding. Medications such as Fenglun Zhixue Pian (Blood-Cooling Tablets) and Sihong Dan can be used.
2. Deficiency-Heat Type: Menstruation occurs prematurely, with an extended period, large volume, and red color, with a thick texture. May also be accompanied by flushed cheeks and heat in the palms and soles. The tongue is red with little coating, and the pulse is fine and rapid. Treatment should focus on clearing heat, nourishing yin, and regulating menstruation to stop bleeding. Gujing Wan (Menstruation-Stabilizing Pill) can be used.
It is recommended to actively treat the condition before attempting conception.
