Third, the materials collected in this book are all publicly published. However, the content of the published materials for each Five-Year Plan varies in detail. Especially during the period of the Cultural Revolution, the published materials for several Five-Year Plans had very limited content, and even related reports, plans, drafts, and resolutions were not made public. Therefore, the content of the compiled Five-Year Plans in this book varies in detail, which is a regret of the compilers. Fourth, the implementation status and major construction projects of each Five-Year Plan are one of the main contents this book aims to reflect. However, due to limited materials, this aspect is also incomplete. Through compiling this book, a strong sense is that national economic construction, social development, and national politics are closely related. When the country's politics is clear, stable, and united, the speed of national economic construction is fast, and society is stable. Otherwise, the speed of national economic construction is slow, or even regressive. The Cultural Revolution is the best proof. In contrast, the First Five-Year Plan and the Five-Year Plans since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee were not only formulated in a complete, rigorous, scientific, and systematic manner but were also implemented and all completed ahead of schedule. The materials compiled in this book mainly come from publications such as Xinhua Monthly, People's Daily, , and Major Events of the National Economic and Social Development Plan of the People's Republic of China.
