This series is Stephen King's most acclaimed novel, a monumental fantasy epic he spent over 30 years completing. Stephen King revealed that he decided to write this historically longest popular fiction novel after being inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings." This series, blending elements of legend, Western stories, and fantasy, has been cherished by readers for years. Throughout his long writing process, many readers have been eagerly discussing the enigmatic plot of the book, and the passionate "Dark Tower" fans have been writing to him, begging for the revelation of the mystery. Some even claimed they would not live long enough to wait for the final book of the series, trying to persuade Stephen King to reveal the ending of the story in advance. "Three Cards" is the second part of the novel "The Dark Tower." The story of "The Dark Tower" was inspired, to some extent, by Robert Browning's narrative poem "The Return of the Roaring Master to Dark Tower" (this work is also influenced by Shakespeare's play "King Lear"). Roland continues his quest for "The Dark Tower." Along the way, he is attacked by various mysterious creatures and brings a New York drug addict, Eddie Dean, back to his world, making him a friend. They travel together and meet a self-absorbed African American woman, Odetta, as well as the evil side of Odetta's self, Dita. The four continue their journey, and Odetta and Dita gradually merge into a new person, Susan, who then marries Eddie. "Three Cards" is the second part of the novel "The Dark Tower." The man in black is actually a guy named Walter, who falsely claims to have had ties with Roland's father before the world shifted. Roland continues his quest for "The Dark Tower."
