Features: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a shining pearl of traditional Chinese culture and a unique gem in the world of medicine. Over thousands of years, the Chinese people have accumulated rich experience in their continuous struggle against diseases, forming a distinctive TCM culture. This culture has not only benefited the Chinese people but has also been embraced by people around the world. TCM primarily uses Chinese herbal medicine to treat illnesses and injuries. Compared to Western medicine, Chinese herbal medicine has its own unique characteristics: it is derived from nature, has significant efficacy, minimal side effects, and offers effective prevention and treatment for common and chronic diseases. It can effectively enhance the human immune system and self-regulation capabilities. More importantly, it plays a unique role in treating difficult and complex conditions that Western medicine cannot address. Additionally, most Chinese herbal medicines are widely distributed and easily accessible, with simple applications. A few common plants found in fields and gardens can alleviate patients' suffering, which holds special significance for people in rural areas. To inherit and develop this valuable national heritage of TCM and better serve public health, we have extensively collected information from various sources and meticulously compiled this herbal book. This book provides detailed introductions to over 300 common Chinese herbal medicines, covering aspects such as morphological characteristics, growth environments, properties, flavors, and efficacy, making it convenient for people to identify and use them in daily life. It also selects over 3,000 folk remedies and secret formulas widely circulated and proven effective, aiming to ensure targeted and precise application. Due to the limited knowledge of the compilers, the vastness of Chinese herbal medicine makes omissions inevitable. We sincerely hope that readers will criticize and correct any shortcomings and offer valuable guidance. During the editing and publishing process of this book, we were fortunate to receive the review and correction of Professor Cui Zhaolin from Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to him.
