Features: This book summarizes the main problems in China's industrial environmental management. The total amount of industrial pollution emissions is high, and with the improvement of people's living standards in China, the total amount of domestic pollution emissions has basically reached parity with industrial emissions. The combined pollutant emissions are excessive, exceeding the environment's self-purification capacity. While the ecological environment quality in some areas has improved, the overall situation of ecological environmental protection remains challenging. Various environmental issues concentrate in the short term, presenting compressed and composite pollution.
In response to the problems in China's industrial environmental management, the international and domestic environmental protection situation, and the requirements of practicing the sustainable development strategy, this book proposes recommendations to strengthen China's industrial environmental management. It suggests shifting from the traditional development model, promoting clean production, and actively developing a circular economy. With the goal of improving management efficiency, it emphasizes the implementation of various management systems and measures. It also advocates for accelerating alignment with international systems in management systems, laws, regulations, and standards, learning from and borrowing management experiences and technologies from developed countries such as the EU. It also proposes effectively promoting voluntary agreement-based environmental management methods to mobilize corporate initiative, transforming passive management into voluntary environmental management to supplement the shortcomings of mandatory management methods. Additionally, it suggests continuing to promote the initiatives of creating green enterprises and environmentally friendly enterprises in conjunction with the expansion of voluntary agreement-based environmental management methods.
