Features: This book argues that the period from the Han to the Jin dynasties was a time of significant development in Daoist thought, which can be broadly divided into four stages: The late Eastern Han Dynasty marked the stage, where Daoist thought broke free from suppression and began to revive. The second stage was the Zhengshi period of the Cao Wei Dynasty, a time of great development in the teachings of the Laozi. The third stage was the late Wei and Western Jin period, when the teachings of the Zhuangzi flourished. The fourth stage was the Eastern Jin period, during which Daoist thought further permeated religious and social life, providing a theoretical foundation for the maturation of Daoism, offering points of convergence for the Sinicization of Buddhism, and playing a significant role in political philosophy, philosophical views on life, aesthetics, and the development of manorial economies. Currently, there are no academic monographs on this topic in academia.
