Doctor's answer:
Hello, menstrual disorders are related to irregular menstrual cycles, where periods may come earlier or later.Premature Menstruation
Premature menstruation refers to a shortened menstrual cycle, less than 21 days, occurring consecutively for two or more cycles. It is classified as ovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB) with biphasic basal body temperature, characterized by a short follicular phase of only 7–8 days.
Extended Menstruation
The menstrual cycle is normal, but the period lasts longer than 7 days, sometimes extending to two weeks.
Symptoms of Menstrual Disorders
During the luteal phase, women may experience lower abdominal pain, which worsens during menstruation. They often have excessive leukorrhea (vaginal discharge) that is yellow or yellowish-white, thick, and has an odor. In cases of incomplete luteal regression, menstrual bleeding is heavier. In cases of delayed endometrial repair, persistent vaginal bleeding may occur after a normal menstrual period.
Delayed Menstruation
Menstruation is delayed by more than 7 days, sometimes up to 40–50 days, and occurs consecutively for two or more cycles. With ovulation, the basal body temperature is biphasic, but the follicular phase is long, and the high-temperature phase is low. Without ovulation, the basal body temperature remains monophasic.
