Features: Bulgaria is located in the northeastern part of the Balkan Peninsula in Europe, with beautiful mountains, picturesque coastlines, and abundant natural resources, making it an excellent destination for tourism and holidays. The Bulgarian people once endured five hundred years of Ottoman colonial rule and gained independence in 1878. They established a socialist regime in 1944 and underwent a social system transformation in 1989. Bulgaria maintains good relations with China. This book is based on the collection of a large amount of primary source materials. The data for this book primarily comes from the following aspects: my accumulation of over 20 years of tracking research on Bulgaria's politics, economy, and foreign relations; the newly published monumental work Bulgaria in the 20th Century (Bulgarian) by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences; data and information provided by the websites of various Bulgarian government departments, the National Assembly, the Socialist Party, and the Democratic Forces Union; the Bulgarian Constitution and regulations in various fields; and Bulgarian original newspapers and magazines. The extensive use of primary foreign language materials has ensured the reliability and accuracy of this book. In addition to utilizing relevant sections from Bulgaria in the 20th Century and the Bulgarian Encyclopedia (Bulgarian), this book also draws on A Concise History of Bulgaria (Volumes 1 and 2) written by Bulgarian professors Kostov, Hristov, and Angelov, translated by the Translation Group of the English Department of Heilongjiang University and published by Heilongjiang People's Publishing House in August 1973; and A Concise Geography of Bulgaria written by Bulgarian authors Minkov and Mischev, translated by Yingpu and others, and published by Jilin People's Publishing House in 1977. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to them here. Here, I would also like to extend my thanks to Xinhua Net, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, Professor Yang Yanjie of Bulgarian Literature, and the China-Bulgaria Economic website of the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria for providing valuable Chinese-language materials.
