Does potassium permanganate delay menstruation?

Patient's question:

Please ask, because of eczema, I used potassium permanganate, but found that my period was delayed. Does potassium permanganate delay menstruation?

Doctor's answer:

Generally, it will not have an impact. Potassium permanganate is toxic and has certain corrosive properties. Inhalation can cause respiratory damage. If it falls into the eyes, it can irritate the conjunctiva and cause severe burns in serious cases. It turns the skin brownish-black after irritation. Concentrated solutions or crystals are corrosive to the skin and irritating to tissues. If ingested, it severely corrodes the mouth and digestive tract. Symptoms include a burning sensation in the mouth, upper abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and swelling of the mouth and throat. In cases of high oral dosage, the oral mucosa darkens to a brownish-black, swells, and erodes, leading to gastric bleeding, liver and kidney damage, severe abdominal pain, vomiting, bloody stools, shock, and ultimately death due to circulatory failure. The lethal dose of pure potassium permanganate is approximately 10g.
