In Chinese medicine, it is known as "bi syndrome," believed to be caused by exposure to wind, cold, and dampness. Over two thousand years ago, Chinese physicians had a deep understanding of this condition. The Suwen·Bi Lun clearly states: "When wind, cold, and dampness converge, they form bi." Clinically, the lesions in joints and the heart are most prominent, with cardiac involvement being particularly severe. Many are aware that rheumatic heart disease is a persistent condition. If treatment is improper, it is extremely dangerous, often leading to heart failure and death. However, this does not mean that rheumatic diseases in other parts of the body can be dismissed, such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis. If treatment is incomplete, the condition may recur, causing unbearable pain with every movement. In severe cases, joints may deform, leading to disability and immense suffering. With rich clinical experience, the book provides a detailed explanation of the prevention, treatment, and care of rheumatic diseases, introducing many secret and proven recipes, herbal wines, and medicinal diets for patients to reference and use.
