Patient's question:
What is meant by retroverted uterus? What is endometriosis?
Are there any connections between the two?
Thank you for your answer, I am truly grateful!
Doctor's answer:
Posterior uterine tilt may not cause symptoms, so it often does not require treatment. However, if there is severe lower back pain or menstrual pain, or if the tilt is caused by another medical condition, surgery to correct it should be considered.Performing four or five knee-chest poses daily, each lasting at least five minutes, may help improve posterior uterine tilt, especially during postpartum recovery. The knee-chest pose can accelerate uterine involution.
Some people believe that posterior uterine tilt leads to infertility, but this is actually very rare. Since sperm naturally swims through the moist vaginal canal toward the cervix, even if it is farther away, infertility due to posterior uterine tilt is uncommon. If the tilt is indeed severe and no other infertility causes can be identified, it might be worth trying sexual positions where the woman lies on her back in a posterior position.
