It was published in 1900 and quickly became famous. In 1901, it was adapted into a musical comedy in Chicago. In 1939, it was turned into a film script, becoming a cinematic masterpiece. Subsequent sequels followed, such as The Land of Oz, The Road to Oz, and The Lost Princess of Oz, among others. After his death, other authors continued to write sequels to the Oz series. To be fair, no matter how many books there are in the series, the most successful one remains The Wonderful Wizard of Oz itself. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz tells the story of Dorothy, a young girl from Kansas. She and her little dog, Toto, are swept away to the Land of Oz by a powerful tornado. To return home and be with her adoptive Uncle Henry and Aunt Em, she faces various adventures and hardships. During her long journey, new companions join her along the way. There is the Scarecrow, who desperately wants a brain that can think; the Tin Woodman, who yearns for a heart that is lively; and the Cowardly Lion, who desperately seeks courage. Before joining this group, each of them had their own experiences, but now they become close traveling companions. They share joys and sorrows, endure unimaginable adventures together, and ultimately fulfill their respective wishes. The story is captivating, the characters are vividly portrayed, and it is impossible to put down.
