Features: In recent years, martial arts have been developing vigorously both domestically and internationally, and various forms of competitive events have become increasingly frequent, creating a pressing need for standardized competition routines. To this end, the China Wushu Research Institute and the China Wushu Association have organized renowned coaches, Tai Chi masters, and selected outstanding athletes to compile competition routines for Long Fist, Southern Fist, Tai Chi, Tai Chi Sword, Broad Sword, Sword, Staff, Spear, Southern Broad Sword, and Southern Staff. These competition routines retain the stylistic characteristics of various fist forms and weapons, reflecting the current technical level of martial arts. Not only are they rich in content, with standardized movements and a rigorous, well-structured layout, but the number of movements, groups, and time durations also comply with the requirements of competition rules. They are used in martial arts competitions both domestically and internationally, as well as in the 1990 Asian Games martial arts competition. The competition routines have been approved by the China Wushu Research Institute and are now published and distributed in book form, with accompanying teaching video tapes also produced for widespread distribution. We believe that with the promotion of competition routines, it will have a positive role in promoting the standardization of martial arts competitions and the popularization and advancement of martial arts.
