Features: Zhejiang is one of the birthplaces of ancient Chinese civilization, with a long history and splendid culture. On this land with profound cultural heritage, Zhejiang Province has made the construction of a "Cultural Province" one of its strategic priorities in the 21st century. In response to the call of the Zhejiang Provincial Government to launch research on historical and cultural projects, this book aims to conduct a deeper study and understanding of Zhejiang's cultural resources and current status, comprehensively organize the long-standing and brilliant cultural heritage, and fully explore the rich foundation of Zhejiang culture. Therefore, A Concise History of Zhejiang Culture is written to present these findings. The regional culture of Zhejiang includes three parts: the prehistoric ancient Yue culture, the culture of the Yue tribal group and the State of Yue with written records, and the culture of Zhejiang after the Qin and Han dynasties. From a regional perspective, the history of Zhejiang culture is also a history of Yue culture. A Concise History of Zhejiang Culture is divided into ten chapters. The first chapter provides a relatively clear definition and discussion of the meaning, evolution, and overall characteristics of Zhejiang culture. The remaining nine chapters elaborate and argue from cultural aspects such as the formative environment, economy and technology, academia, literature, art, education, religion, and customs, and conclude with the spread and influence of Zhejiang culture overseas. The book is rich in data and well-supported by references. It adopts a combination of horizontal block-style structural frameworks and vertical discussions, with clear and focused themes in each chapter, a well-defined historical evolution process, and abundant knowledge. The language is clear and concise, striving for readability, making it suitable for readers with a college-level education or higher. The book consists of 10 chapters. The first chapter provides a relatively clear discussion of the meaning, evolution, and overall characteristics of Zhejiang culture, while the remaining nine chapters elaborate and argue from cultural aspects such as the formative environment, economy and technology, academia, literature, art, education, religion, and customs, concluding with the spread and influence of Zhejiang culture overseas.
