Patient's question:
Doctor, hello!!!!!!My wife often has irregular menstruation, how long after her period is the ovulation period?????? Is it the same as the calculation method for normal ovulation periods?????????? How to calculate??????????????
Looking forward to your prompt reply!!!!!!
Doctor's answer:
Ovulation is the process in which an egg cell and the surrounding cumulus granulosa cells are released. After being released from the ovary, the egg can survive for 1-2 days within the fallopian tube, waiting for fertilization; male sperm can maintain its fertilizing ability in a woman's reproductive tract for 2-3 days, so sexual intercourse during the days before and after ovulation increases the likelihood of conception. A woman's ovulation date is generally about 14 days before the start of her next menstrual period. For safety, we refer to the 5 days before the ovulation day, the ovulation day itself, and the 4 days after it as a total of 10 days, known as the fertile window. Because sexual intercourse during the fertile window increases the likelihood of conception, this period is also called the fertile period or the risky period.
