What should I do about ovarian cysts?

Patient's question:

Patient Gender: Married for one year, currently not pregnant, diagnosed with an ovarian cyst at the hospital, size 35cm 29cm, slightly inflamed now. The doctor recommends surgery. What should I do?
Patient Age: 26
Duration and Onset of Illness: Detected for half a year
Current General Condition: Pain-free, no symptoms

Doctor's answer:

Hello: It is recommended to actively consider surgical treatment. The only treatment for benign ovarian tumors is surgical resection. For cysts with a diameter of less than 5 to 6 cm, observation for 3 to 6 months is possible. If the cyst continues to grow, or if the tumor has a diameter of less than 5 cm but is solid, surgical resection should be performed. For children and young, nulliparous patients, unilateral oophorectomy or unilateral adnexectomy is often adopted. If the bilateral ovarian benign tumors are present, the doctor may consider ovarian tumor enucleation to preserve as much ovarian tissue as possible, thereby maintaining menstrual and fertility functions. Laparoscopic surgery has small abdominal incisions and a rapid recovery.
