Features: This book is a specialized study on Japan's industry and industrial structure. It primarily focuses on the development of Japan's economy and industry after World War II, as well as the growth and structural changes of some key industries during the post-war economic development. This chapter attempts to study the development and structural transformation of Japanese industry from the perspective of "Japanese-Type," with a focus on the impact of the post-World War II global political and economic landscape, as well as Japan's political and cultural history, on its industrial development and structural formation.
Chapter 2: Japan's Manufacturing Industry, which includes five sections:
Section 1: Post-War Manufacturing Revitalization,
Section 2: Changes in Manufacturing Structure Before and After the Oil Crisis,
Section 3: Industrial Structure Adjustment Since the 1980s,
Section 4: Impact of Exchange Rate and Market Condition Changes on Manufacturing,
Section 5: Overseas Development of Japanese Manufacturing.
Chapter 3: Japan's Raw Material Industry, which includes three sections:
Section 1: Overview of the Raw Material Industry, providing a general study on the role and position of the raw material industry in Japan's economy and industry.
Section 2: Steel Industry and
Section 3: Petrochemical Industry, which select two of the most significant industrial sectors in Japan's raw material industry for an in-depth study of their development and structural adjustments. Special attention is given to the challenges faced by these raw material industries in the context of economic globalization and the shift toward economic services, as well as their corresponding strategies.
Chapter 4: Japan's Assembly and Processing Industry, which includes three sections:
Section 1: Automotive Industry,
Section 2: Machinery Industry,
Section 3: Home Appliance Industry.
Chapter 5: Japan's Energy Industry, which includes five sections:
Section 1: Characteristics and Position of the Energy Industry,
Section 2: Japan's Energy Structure and Energy Policy,
Section 3: Japan's Petroleum Industry,
Section 4: Japan's Electricity Industry,
Section 5: Challenges of Japan's Energy in the 21st Century.
Chapter 6: Japan's Financialization, which includes five sections:
Section 1: Development of Japan's Financial Industry,
Section 2: Japan's Financial Market,
Section 3: Japan's Financial Structure,
Section 4: Development and Impact of Derivatives Markets,
Section 5: Japan's Major Financial Reform.
