What to eat after uterine fibroid surgery

Patient's question:

Medical Description: My mother is 68 years old. On August 1st of this year, she was examined at Harbin City Tumor Hospital and found to have an egg-sized uterine fibroid. On August 5th, she underwent a hysterectomy (minimally invasive surgery). Currently, she can eat.
History of Treatment and Effects: She had previously been examined and found to have fibroids, but they were not large.
What Help Is Needed: She wants to consult about what to eat for her now.

Doctor's answer:

Patients with uterine fibroids should consume nutrient-rich, easily digestible foods and increase their intake of protein, vitamins, and iron-rich foods, such as fish soup, grapes, cherries, and vegetables. However, it is advisable to limit overly nutritious tonics, as they may not be beneficial.
On the first day, a completely clear-liquid diet should be followed, including foods like congee skin (the skin of boiled millet or rice congee), thin lotus root starch, and almond milk, served 6–8 times a day. Avoid foods that may cause gas, such as soy milk and milk, for now.
From the 2nd to 3rd day, a full-liquid diet can be adopted. Nutritional powders (e.g., protein powder, complete nutrition powder) can be added to congee skin, along with thick rice porridge, strained chicken soup, egg drop soup, and egg-soaked rice porridge. From the 3rd to 4th day, a transition to a thick-liquid diet can begin, such as rice congee, tofu brain, beef soup, scrambled egg custard, and vegetable puree, with appropriate additions like shredded meat or minced meat.
After the first week of surgery, a gradual shift to a semi-liquid diet can be made, starting with chicken noodle soup with scrambled eggs, rib soup with thin noodles and scrambled eggs, vegetable broth with egg noodles, or small dumplings. The diet can then be slowly advanced to soft rice or regular rice, preferably with small, frequent meals to enhance nutrient intake.
