Publish Date: 2006-03-01
Features: After the Cold War, the international situation has undergone profound changes, and traditional theories of international politics have faced new challenges. The teaching and research of international politics must analyze the new characteristics of the current international political landscape and address the new issues facing international relations practice. This book, based on new materials, new ideas, and a new structure, is a revised edition of "Introduction to International Politics" published in 1992, which was released in early 2000. As one of the "21st Century International Politics Series Textbooks" of Renmin University of China, it has promoted the discipline and curriculum development of international politics at Renmin University of China, while also establishing its own distinct features and influence among peers nationwide. To reflect new teaching and research achievements, while largely maintaining the theoretical and logical framework of the Renmin University edition, the author has adjusted some chapters of the original book. Specifically, a new chapter titled "Basic Forms of International Political Interaction" has been added, while two chapters, "Legal Norms and Standards of International Politics" and "Basic Types of Inter-State Relations," have been removed. The original "Introduction" section has been expanded and divided into two chapters: "Introduction" and "Basic Theories of International Politics." Other sections, such as "Economic and Trade Factors in International Politics" and "International System and International Structure," have also undergone significant revisions. However, to preserve the style and features of the Renmin University edition and maintain the continuity of the revision, many chapters of this book still retain a large portion of the content from the previous revision. The revised edition of this book has a more rational structure, clearer hierarchy, and clearer logical flow compared to the first edition, making it an indispensable textbook for studying international politics.
