Features: The TMS320C55x DSP is the newest generation product in Texas Instruments (TI)'s 16-bit fixed-point C5000 DSP series. The C55x has excellent compatibility with the widely used C54x series DSP and is also source-code compatible with C54x, effectively protecting users' investments in C54x software. The C55x inherits the development trends of C54x, featuring low power consumption and low cost, maintaining the best performance under limited power conditions. Operating at 0.9V, its core power consumption is as low as 0.05 mW/MIPS, while performance reaches 800 MIPS (400 MHz), providing effective solutions for challenges in portable applications such as digital communication. Based on the collection of all documentation on the C55x, this book has been edited and translated, aiming to provide students and engineers learning and developing C55x with a practical and convenient technical manual. The book is divided into three parts. The first part provides a brief overview of the C55x series DSP, giving readers a conceptual understanding of the C55x. The second part offers a detailed introduction to the CPU. The third part provides a detailed introduction to the on-chip peripherals. The target readers of this book are senior undergraduate or graduate students in electrical engineering and electronic information disciplines and professionals engaged in TI DSP development, as well as engineers in the industry.
