Author: None
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2006-02-01
Features: The world of the 21st century is a world of high technology, as well as a world of popular culture. Even the traditionally defined high culture will merge with society and gradually move closer to the masses after entering the 21st century. This book is divided into several major parts: overview, chronicles, historical relics, biographies, and charts. It is published in separate volumes for each province (municipality or autonomous region), based on actual hand-collected materials. It systematically records the history, current status, content, forms, styles, and evolutionary characteristics of ethnic folk dances in each province (municipality or autonomous region), as well as related seasonal customs, beliefs, and rituals. The dances collected from each province (municipality or autonomous region) do not consider cross-over or overlap with one another, in order to ensure the accuracy of the materials and preserve local characteristics. This book first systematically records the historical origins, evolutionary styles, performance forms, musical accompaniment, costumes and props, as well as related seasonal customs, beliefs, rituals, arts and crafts, and literature and archaeology of the folk culture in Fujian region, filling a gap in the materials and research of Chinese culture. The entire book began publication in 1999 and has been released in separate volumes for provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in an ongoing manner.
