Publish Date: 2006-03-01
Features: This book is not just a simple replication of blog posts. It is divided into five parts: Reminiscence, Gradual Enlightenment, Observing from a Seat, Walking, and Discovery. Pan Shiyi shares his views and insights on various topics, including his childhood hardships, middle-aged lifestyle, gender dynamics in the real estate industry, spiritual religion and beliefs, and the harmonious relationship between humans, nature, and society. Especially, the characters, events, and perspectives discussed in the book are genuine records and reflections of reality. Most netizens commented, "Pan Shiyi takes us on a journey to experience the charisma of great figures, the journey of charity, and the behind-the-scenes life of various events," and called it "engaging and satisfying, a reading experience that ordinary people have never had." As Pan Shiyi's wife, Zhang Xin, remarked, Pan's blog makes the world smaller and more "flat," blurring the lines between writers and readers, and eliminating distance.
I first heard about blogs from my assistant, Miss Yu Ke. At the time, the most famous blogger was "Furong Sister." Miss Yu opened Furong Sister's blog for me to see, and I nearly laughed to death. Many of her photos featured her twisting her body into various seductive poses, standing in front of luxury cars in the "beautiful woman with a fancy car" style, or lounging half-naked on the grass, playing with her long hair in the "Qiong Yao novel" style—all common poses of "great beauties." However, Furong Sister's poses were incredibly hilarious, and all of us who were reading the blog together laughed uncontrollably.
