Features: Currently, with the rapid development of China's economic construction and the hosting of major international events such as the Beijing Olympic Games and the Shanghai World Expo, cities across the country are vigorously carrying out urban construction. However, these modern public facilities that are about to be completed still lag behind in terms of directional signs and other aspects. How can public signs be internationalized? What kind of environment can constitute an international one? China has entered the era of international standardization. United Nations agencies proposed fifty years ago to establish internationally recognized standard public signs to promote exchanges between countries and eliminate language barriers. This first requires each country to implement a unified standardized sign system; then, several countries form a regional common standard series (such as the current regional alliances); finally, several different regions jointly form an international common standard sign system. With China's entry into the World Trade Organization and the hosting of the International Olympic Games and World Expo, international exchanges have become increasingly extensive. To eliminate language barriers and establish a unified, standardized public sign system and product sign system in China is a crucial part of China's comprehensive opening-up, as well as an important standard for measuring whether each city in China has reached an international standard.
