Features: The new CET-4 test has the following characteristics:
1. The "Vocabulary and Structure" section has been canceled. Although the test section has been removed, the assessment of both vocabulary and structure has been integrated into other parts.
2. The weight of the "Listening Comprehension" section has been increased. First, the score value has been raised; second, the types of questions have been added.
3. The weight of the "Reading Comprehension" section has slightly decreased, but emphasis is placed on the assessment of various reading skills.
4. The "Writing" and "Cloze" sections remain unchanged. It is worth noting that the new syllabus still requires candidates to demonstrate basic writing skills. The main writing styles remain argumentative essays and practical writing.
5. A "Translation" section (Chinese to English) has been added. This section assesses candidates' ability to translate phrases or common expressions in sentences from Chinese to English. To help candidates smoothly adapt to this change and successfully pass the exam, we have organized experienced teachers with profound academic expertise and extensive teaching experience. They have carefully studied the question-setting philosophy of the new format and analyzed the test data, extensively collected materials from classic publications both domestically and internationally, and meticulously compiled ten sets of tests. Each set of tests has undergone multiple rounds of processes, including "question-setting, review, revision, re-review, sample testing, and further revision," to ensure they are as close to or even aligned with the question-setting philosophy and data requirements of the College English Test Committee.
