Patient's question:
After about three months since the last pregnancy, I'm pregnant again, but I still don't want a child. I haven't gone to the hospital for a thorough check-up yet and plan to do so in a couple of days. Recently, I've occasionally experienced mild lower abdominal pain, but it's not severe—similar to the pain during my menstrual period. There's no vaginal bleeding. I want to ask if it could be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy.Doctor's answer:
Ectopic pregnancy may typically present with symptoms such as recurrent abdominal pain, missed periods, and vaginal bleeding. Based solely on these symptoms, it is not sufficient to conclude that it is an ectopic pregnancy. Also, I don't know when your last menstrual period was. Generally, after being pregnant for 5 or 6 weeks, you can have a color Doppler ultrasound to check it. Then, it can basically confirm whether it is an ectopic pregnancy or an intrauterine early pregnancy.
