Precautions during the use of Mifepristone tablets before induced abortion

Patient's question:

Precautions during the use of Mifepristone tablets before induced abortion

Doctor's answer:

Hello,
1. For confirmed early pregnancy, the duration of amenorrhea should not exceed 49 days. The shorter the pregnancy, the better the effect.
2. Mifepristone tablets must be used under conditions equipped with emergency services, dilation and curettage (D&C) surgery, and intravenous fluid and blood transfusion. This medication must not be sold independently in pharmacies.
3. Before taking the medication, the patient must be informed in detail about the expected therapeutic effects and possible side effects. If heavy bleeding or other abnormal conditions occur during treatment or follow-up, seek medical attention promptly.
4. After taking the medication, a small amount of vaginal bleeding may occur relatively early. Some women may experience prolonged bleeding after miscarriage. A few women with early pregnancy may naturally miscarry after taking mifepristone tablets.
