Is fetal development like this normal?

Patient's question:

[Condition Description: On August 4th, I had an ultrasound (at that time, I had been pregnant for about 50 days). The result showed no yolk sac, no embryo, and no fetal heartbeat. Following the doctor's advice, I had another ultrasound today, and the result showed an embryo but still no fetal heartbeat.
History of Treatment and Effect: Last time, I followed the doctor's advice and rested at home for a week.
What I Hope to Get Help With: Could you please tell me if fetal development is normal in this case? I don’t know whether to keep it or terminate the pregnancy. If I keep it, will there be any impact on the child's future development? Could there be issues with poor growth or disabilities? Please help me understand, thank you!

Doctor's answer:

Hello, I'm glad to be of help to you. Generally, at six weeks of pregnancy, the primitive germ and primitive vascular pulsations can be observed under ultrasound. However, you haven't seen the primitive vascular pulsations yet. I suggest you get a progesterone and blood HCG test to understand the development of the embryo. If your menstrual cycle is regular, the primitive germ should be around 1.5 cm. You can wait for a week and then have a follow-up ultrasound to check if there is fetal heartbeat. If there isn't, you should consider the possibility of embryonic arrest!
