Features: This book, "The Mystery of the Shroud of Jesus," defeated "The Da Vinci Code" on bestseller lists, with international rights sold to over twenty countries, and the film rights were acquired by Filmax for a hefty sum. It is an irresistible historical suspense novel that opens the door to the magical world of religious history for readers, allowing them to wander between history and reality, experiencing the joy of reading and the profound impact of the millennia-old mystery of the Shroud of Jesus. A raging fire broke out in the Turin Cathedral of Italy, and a man with his tongue cut out perished in the flames. This fire drew the attention of Interpol, as the cathedral housed a sacred relic of the Catholic Church—the Shroud of Jesus. Detective Marco Baroni then launched an investigation, where he also met two new partners: the meticulous and charming historian Sofia Garoni; and the witty, brave, and energetic Spanish female journalist. Although the case is set in the present, they must first solve a historical mystery dating back to the medieval Knights Templar era. As the investigation deepens, more and more political figures, business elites, and renowned scholars become involved, and this arson case is intricately linked to the identity of Jesus, the Shroud of Jesus, the Byzantine Empire, the New City of Turkey, France, Spain, Portugal, and Scotland.
After Jesus was crucified, his disciples fled or scattered, and his body was left unburied. A man named Joseph took his body down, wrapped it in fine linen, and placed it in a rock-hewn tomb. Soon after, Jesus rose from the dead and escaped from the tomb, leaving behind the linen cloth. The Bible does not provide further details about the fate of this linen cloth. It was not until 1355 that this extraordinary relic resurfaced, owned by a French knight who claimed to have obtained it during the Crusades in Constantinople. In 1578, the Shroud was sent to Turin and has been preserved as one of the sacred relics of the Roman Catholic Church to this day.
In the 20th century, with the advancement of science, more and more scholars began to explore the authenticity of this relic from historical, chemical, and art historical perspectives. Is the mysterious Turin Shroud a relic of Jesus from ancient Palestine, or a meticulously crafted forgery by a forger of the century? This remains an unsolved mystery. This book unravels this century-old religious mystery through a brilliantly conceived and intricately plotted story, allowing readers to enjoy the thrill and excitement of temporal and spatial adventures while enriching their knowledge of history and religion.
