This book is a special collection for new Narnia movie fans, book lovers, and fans of "The Chronicles of Narnia." The process of chronicling the making of the film was somewhat unusual, but I still took up the pen because I wanted to share this wonderful experience with everyone. I believe loyal fans deserve something more personal than the fragmented snippets with promotional photos seen in newspapers and magazines. Therefore, this book is more intimate, written by someone who has lived through the experience and feels deeply honored to have been a part of it. The story of how this film came to be is just as thrilling as the legendary content itself. I hope those who love "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" as much as I do will cherish this book, treating it as an appendix to one of the greatest stories ever told.
[Foreword] When I was eight years old, my parents gave me the book "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." From then on, the mythical creatures, talking animals, and magical childhood in C.S. Lewis's fantastical world filled me with longing. I went on to read all the stories in the Narnia series, and the world and characters in the books enriched my imagination. At the time, I never dreamed that one day I would bring my childhood imagination to the big screen. Not everyone has the opportunity to give life to their childhood dreams, so I never took it lightly. We, who grew up reading "The Chronicles of Narnia," would undoubtedly demand that the film perfectly capture the world C.S. Lewis created. A few years ago, this idea might have seemed unattainable, but with the rapid advancement of film technology, "The Chronicles of Narnia" finally made it to the big screen. Filming such a monumental film is like organizing an army or assembling a massive machine—every part must fit seamlessly. We needed to mobilize a vast team, including craftsmen, writers, producers, actors, cinematographers, assistant directors, editors, composers, designers, illustrators, camera operators, set designers, costume designers, producers, gaffers, caterers, drivers, stunt performers, sound engineers, sound designers, visual effects experts, video assistants, rigging crew, animal trainers, talent agents, assistants, and assistant assistants. I am sincerely grateful to all those who helped bring my eight-year-old fantasy to life.
The behind-the-scenes story of filming "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" is as rich as the characters in the Narnia world. This book is a record of these people and these events. It is a story written with friendship, courage, setbacks, tears, blood, sweat, and love—it is the journey we all took together to bring the film to you.
