Features: This book, as one of the trial teaching materials for the papermaking major, was compiled by the Papermaking Professional Teaching Committee of the National Light Industry Vocational and Technical Education Society based on the "Vocational and Technical School Papermaking Professional Teaching Plan" and teaching syllabus formulated in 1990. It was written by professional teaching staff from more than ten key light industry vocational and technical schools across the country and some engineering technicians from papermaking enterprises in 1995. The series of textbooks includes four courses: "Pulp and Papermaking Technology," "Pulp and Papermaking Equipment and Operation," "Pulp and Papermaking Laboratory and Quality Inspection," and "Chemical Engineering Principles" (commonly used by various majors in the light industry). To strengthen the cultivation of students' operational skills and increase the content of knowledge on papermaking equipment and operation, this series divides the content of technology and equipment into two separate courses: "Pulp and Papermaking Technology" focuses on theoretical aspects, while "Pulp and Papermaking Equipment and Operation" emphasizes equipment and operational knowledge. The two courses are both specialized and complementary, avoiding content repetition. Due to the rapid development of pulp and papermaking technology in China in recent years, especially in areas such as continuous steam and digestion of grass pulp, waste paper pulping, alkali recovery from grass pulp, chemi-mechanical pulping of wood, high-speed paper machine formation, automatic control (DCS) and quality control (QCS) of papermaking production processes, the second edition of this book has been enriched with new content. This second edition includes two books: "Pulp and Papermaking Technology" and "Pulp and Papermaking Equipment and Operation." The revision of this book was mainly completed by professional teaching staff from some colleges and universities in Shandong Province, a key province in China's papermaking industry, such as Shandong Institute of Industrial Technology, Shandong Light Industry Institute, and Shandong Vocational and Technical College, based on the original version, supplemented and improved. Some authors from the original version and experts and engineering technicians from many provinces and enterprises have provided a wealth of information and sincere suggestions for the revision of this book, for which we express our gratitude. This book was compiled by the Papermaking Professional Teaching Research Committee of the National Light Industry Vocational and Technical Education Society based on the "Vocational and Technical School Papermaking Professional Teaching Plan" and teaching syllabus formulated in 1990, organized by professional teaching staff from more than ten key light industry vocational and technical schools across the country. The book is divided into sixteen chapters and is approximately 200 hours of teaching content, suitable for two or three-year vocational and technical school curricula. Due to the systematic and comprehensive nature of the book's content, vocational and technical schools can select and adapt the teaching content based on the actual production practices of the local papermaking industry.
