Can pelvic effusion be treated with medication?

Patient's question:

I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried about it affecting my fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. Can pelvic fluid accumulation be treated with medication?

Doctor's answer:

Pelvic effusion is divided into two types: physiological and pathological. Physiological pelvic effusion occurs before and after ovulation, before and after menstruation, or in early pregnancy, and can naturally disappear without treatment. Pathological pelvic effusion is mostly caused by pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis, or endometriosis. Most patients with pathological pelvic effusion have symptoms, such as lower abdominal pain (unilateral or bilateral), lower abdominal distension and pain, dragging pain, lumbosacral pain, lower back pain, and lower abdominal dragging. Patients feel very uncomfortable and should be actively treated immediately until the effusion is absorbed and dissipated.
