Growing Up Essay -- Upper Elementary

Author: Wang Baishi Xia Xiaorong

Publish Date: 2004-07-01
Features: This book is a continuation of "Growing Essays" (Middle Grades). The two albums for middle and high grades each contain 6 sections, with similar content that is logically connected. The difference between the two albums lies not only in the depth of language and writing skills but also in expression. This book begins to introduce requirements in terms of ideological depth, vividness, interest, imagery, and perceptiveness, along with some training prompts. These also touch on the use of rhetorical methods. However, these requirements are limited to perceptual exploration, without seeking rational understanding. Similarly, a few outstanding essays by junior high school students are occasionally selected for this book. These are chosen based on the need for reading and reference and are also accessible to high-grade students. If there is any depth, it is akin to "leaping just a little to pick the fruit," rather than simply "reaching out to grab it." In this book, the methods of guidance, discussion, and analysis are still adopted, and it strives to fulfill the role of "providing a helping hand."
