Features: American Pastoral narrates the highly representative experiences of the Levov family from the Great Depression to the end of the 20th century. Levov was a beloved baseball star, and his wife, Dawn, was the stunning Miss New Jersey. Just as they were successfully integrating into American society, the Vietnam War and escalating domestic conflicts disrupted this process. Their daughter Merry threw a bomb during an anti-Vietnam War protest, completely destroying their American dream. The family's upheaval left Dawn disheartened, leading her to have an affair. Dawn's betrayal shattered Levov's illusions about life. His American dream became a nightmare that he could neither tolerate nor escape.
