A Mysterious Literary Genius: Lu Ling

Author: Liu Tingsheng

Publish Date: 2005-05-23
Features: As the saying goes, "The formation of style is an important sign of a writer's creative maturity" (Yi Qun, Principles of Literature, p. 416). At the same time, there is another saying: "Socialization is the inevitable phenomenon of a person's adaptability to the real environment and a sign of one's social maturity" (Tong Qingbing, "A Writer's Childhood Experience and Its Impact on Creation," Literary Review, April 1993). One is the maturity of literary creation, and the other is the maturity of socialization. Both are forms of maturity, yet they carry different meanings. A person who is overly socially mature is often not a writer with a unique style. This is because literary style is marked by uniqueness and is an expression of creative individuality. This independent and distinctive creative individuality is vividly and uniquely reflected in a writer's perception, emotional attitude, imaginative ability, aesthetic tendency, artistic pursuit, and expression when facing social life.
