Features: The development of academic endeavors is like the Yangtze River, with waves following waves, endless and continuous, much like the passing of the torch, generation after generation, with ever brighter brilliance. Later scholars must understand the work already done by their predecessors, inherit their achievements and experiences, and build upon them to move forward. The Academic Committee of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences has gathered dozens of senior experts from dozens of disciplines in our institution, who have decades of research experience in their respective fields and have made significant contributions. The published series features representative works selected by each expert from their academic career, showcasing their diligent academic journey and reflecting the partial achievements and development in various fields of philosophy and social sciences in China over the past few decades, especially since the reform and opening-up. This collection includes 34 papers, all selected from works published between 1978 and 2003. The study of literary theory issues or foreign literary theory issues is my third major research direction and one of the main contents of this collection. Since 1978, I have written a series of papers on this topic to elaborate on the urgent and pioneering theoretical issues in the development of domestic and international literary theories, covering aspects such as methods, concepts, frameworks, inheritance, and reference in literary studies.
