How to use an ovulation test strip

Patient's question:

I have an itchy lower body, and my underwear is always yellow. What's going on? How do I use an ovulation test strip?

Doctor's answer:

For women with a relatively regular menstrual cycle, measure for six consecutive days, three days before and three days after the 14th day of the cycle (which is the estimated time of ovulation). For women with an irregular menstrual cycle, generally start testing three days after the menstrual period ends. If the two lines on the test strip are the same depth or the second line is deeper than the first, it indicates that ovulation will occur within 24 to 48 hours. Other test results can be referred to by the illustrations in the instructions.
