Will the breast milk be sufficient later if it is not enough during the postpartum period?

Patient's question:

I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried it might affect fertility, and I also feel extremely cold and afraid of coldness. Could you please tell me if milk supply will increase after postpartum if it's insufficient initially?

Doctor's answer:

It is possible. It is recommended that the baby suck more, and the lactating mother should eat more vegetables, fruits, and high-fat foods. Patients with ovarian teratoma should choose surgical treatment. The scope of surgery can include resection of the affected adnexa, enucleation of the affected teratoma, and/or biopsy of the contralateral ovary. The surgical approach can be laparoscopic or open. Based on intraoperative findings, the benignity or malignancy of the teratoma can be preliminarily determined. If malignancy is suspected, frozen section pathology should be sent as soon as possible. For malignant teratomas, a complete staging surgery should be performed as much as possible. A comprehensive pelvic exploration should be conducted during the surgery, with resection of the omentum and peritoneum and lymph node biopsy to understand the extent of tumor infiltration and the degree of involvement of various organs and tissues. After surgery, traditional Chinese medicine such as ginsenoside Rh2 (Humen) can be taken to prevent recurrence and consolidate treatment.
