How to treat breast engorgement pain

Patient's question:

I have a particularly itchy lower body, and my underwear is always yellow. What's going on? How can I treat breast engorgement pain after weaning?

Doctor's answer:

After weaning, the nursing mother should drink less soup or liquid to help reduce milk production and facilitate faster weaning. If the milk supply is still excessive, a binding cloth can be used to tightly wrap the breasts. Alternatively, an electric breast pump can be used to express a small amount of milk when the breasts feel overly full, followed by binding the breasts tightly with the cloth. If the breasts do not feel overly full, avoid expressing milk to prevent further stimulation of milk production. (Remember, never squeeze milk when the breasts are full, or it will take a long time to wean.) Medication can also be used to wean, such as taking ethinyl estradiol orally at a dose of 5 mg three times a day for three consecutive days, or administering 6 grams of ethinyl estradiol intramuscularly once a day for three times in total. Alternatively, half a pound of Epsom salt can be used daily, applied to both breasts in divided doses, and removed after the Epsom salt has fully dissolved. Generally, weaning can be achieved within two to three days. Vitamin B6 can also be used to wean!
