Features: Tracing the long river of history, in the depths of time, there exists a spiritual sanctuary filled with faith. The people there, though their faces are blurred, are endlessly polished by time until they become clear; their steps, once stumbling, are ever more steadfastly guided by dreams; their words, though concise, are passed down through generations, resounding with weight. Over the years, their figures may dim due to neglect, but they never fade away. Those voices echoing in dreams are precisely their melodious words. The vast Chinese nation, with its profound culture, has carved out a shared name for them: Heroes! Throughout the five thousand years of Chinese history, how many heroic figures have emerged from the land of China, inspiring and moving us! In times of national prosperity, they shed blood and sacrifice. To resist foreign aggression and defend dignity, they faced challenges head-on, sacrificing their lives for righteousness. "Truth is brave and also armed with martial might; forever strong, invincible; though the body perishes, the spirit remains; resolute in death, they become the heroes of the dead." They are truly the heroes of our nation, the ones who uphold the spiritual legacy of our people. Heroes condense the long memory of the nation, support its upright backbone, and set an honorable example for it. The spirit of heroes is where the essence of Chinese culture lies, the lifeline of the nation, and the fundamental belief that enables the descendants of Yan and Huang to flourish and endure. China is an ancient civilization that reveres heroes, and also a modern powerhouse that promotes the spirit of heroism. Heroes carry hope and expectation, inspiring us to carry forward the legacy as the Chinese nation rises in peace. Now, as traditional values are fading and an increasing number of imported goods replace domestic products, when superheroes like Spider-Man, Saint Seiya, and Detective Conan have become the idols of children, how much space do our heroes still have to survive? A tree takes ten years to grow, but nurturing people takes a hundred years. Understanding and accepting our heroes requires long-term effort. The beginning of this effort lies with the youth, the rising sun. Starting with dreams, pursuing the traces of heroes, and empathizing with their emotions—perhaps this is the simplest way for the youth to honor heroes. We choose the form of comics, which is favored by the youth, to remember our heroes, and we select outstanding comic artists from all over the country to portray our heroes. In the face of the invasion of foreign comic heroes, let our national heroes live vividly in the hearts of the youth, radiating the charm of history and national culture with dynamic poses, and facing the challenges of giants with a modern appearance. Comics of Chinese Heroes will be an ideal cultural medium for the youth to read, as well as a spiritual feast and visual spectacle prepared for them by us. For this reason, we create Comics of Chinese Heroes.
