Features: Czerny's Practical Piano Exercises (Op. 849) is a collection of exercises that follows Czerny's Piano Preliminary Exercises (Op. 599). Although still relatively easy, each piece in Op. 849 is significantly longer than those in Op. 599. In writing this book, the author divides each exercise into several sections, both to remind students to practice them in segments and to make it easier for students to locate specific examples while practicing. Therefore, before playing each exercise, students must first divide the score into sections according to the segmentation method in the "Technical Analysis" column of this book, label the section numbers, and then proceed with strict segmented practice. The measures mentioned in the book refer to the measures starting from the beginning of each section. The tempo requirements at the beginning of each exercise in Practical Piano Exercises (Op. 849) are very fast. The order of pieces in Czerny's Practical Piano Exercises (Op. 849) does not directly correlate with difficulty levels. A technical classification is provided at the end of the book for reference.
