Doctor's answer:

Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia refers to a condition where the cells of the cervical epithelium show a certain degree of atypia in morphology but are not yet sufficient to be diagnosed as cancer. Under the microscope, the proliferating cells appear varied in size and shape, with large and darkly stained nuclei, an increased nucleus-to-cytoplasm ratio, and nuclear division that may be enlarged but mostly belong to normal nuclear division patterns. The cells are arranged relatively disorderly, with loss of polarity. Currently, the continuous process from cervical intraepithelial neoplasia to invasive cancer is collectively referred to as cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, abbreviated as CIN.
