Do you have the disease of cervical erosion? How is it treated?

Patient's question:

Patient is female, 21 years old, previously in good health. This time the condition includes:
1. Urinary urgency, incomplete urination
2. Occasional lower back pain
3. Abnormal vaginal discharge with odor, dark yellow in color

Doctor's answer:

Cervical erosion is classified into three degrees—mild, moderate, and severe—based on the depth of the lesion. If the erosion is mild and superficial, even if the erosion area is relatively large but the depth is shallow and there is minimal leukorrhea, it may not require immediate treatment. However, for papillary erosion of moderate or greater severity, cancer prevention screening and treatment are necessary.
For patients with moderate or severe cervical erosion, common treatment methods include electrocoagulation, laser therapy, and cryotherapy. The disadvantages are significant side effects, which may lead to reduced nerve sensitivity in the vaginal wall, potentially affecting sexual quality. Additionally, the condition tends to recur easily after treatment. It is recommended to use oral antibiotics and topical problem iodine for timely treatment.
