In 1938, Rodari graduated from normal school and later worked as an elementary school teacher. After World War II, he served as an editor for the children's newspaper "Il Pioniere" of the Italian Communist Party while dedicating himself to children's literature creation. In 1951, he began serializing the long fairy tale "The Adventures of Pinocchio" in "Il Pioniere," which had a profound impact on Italian children's literature. His representative works include "The Adventures of Pinocchio in the Lie Country," "The Cake in the Sky," "The Journey of the Blue Train," and "Summer Stories," which have captivated children worldwide. Rodari's children's literature has been translated into over a hundred languages and is widely circulated globally. Due to his significant contributions to children worldwide, he was awarded the International Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1970 and became a master of children's literature in the 20th century. "The Adventures of Pinocchio in the Lie Country" tells the story of a boy named Little Gulliver who arrives in the Lie Country. In this land, the king decrees that everything must be said in reverse. Since the king was once a pirate, the first step is to revise the dictionary, changing "pirate" to "good person." The lies instigated by the king completely invert well-known moral concepts and social phenomena.
