Surgery

Features: This book is revised and written based on the seven-year program textbook Surgery. Compared to it, the eight-year program textbook Surgery emphasizes three aspects: "updated, deeper, and more refined."
Updated: It should include updated content, updated ideas, and an updated style, reflecting the latest knowledge and developments in surgery. For example, it adds Surgery and Genetics; in the chapter on abdominal hernias, it introduces new domestic classifications of inguinal hernias; it provides more coverage of recent advances in minimally invasive surgery and organ transplantation; and the term "Plastic Surgery" in Chapter 22 is no longer suitable for the content it covers, so this book has been changed to Reconstructive Surgery.
Deeper: The relevant content should be deeper, with more complete concepts and theories. It is important to note that "deeper" does not simply mean more text, nor does it mean that more text is always better. It refers to a deeper level of understanding, striving for complete concepts and theories. Basic theories and fundamental knowledge should be comprehensive, not only helping students understand what but also why.
Refined: The text and language should be as concise as possible, with content that is easy to understand. Some content is intentionally brief, leaving room for students to think. For interdisciplinary and marginal subjects, overlapping content is minimized. To facilitate teaching and help students master more medical English vocabulary related to surgery, English translations are provided for main diseases, surgeries, and other specialized medical terms. Additionally, a list of main reference books and bibliographies is included.
