Features: With the development of China's healthcare system, the overall incidence of infectious diseases has declined, but some infectious diseases, such as viral hepatitis, still remain at a high incidence rate. In recent years, new infectious diseases have emerged successively, such as SARS and avian influenza. The number of people infected with and diagnosed with AIDS in China has entered a period of rapid growth. Therefore, the prevention and control of infectious diseases remain severe. This year, China promulgated the newly revised "Law on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases," and Jiangsu Province established the Center for Quality Control of Infectious Disease Medical Services. The diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases have entered an era of legalization and standardization. To strengthen the basic management of infectious disease hospitals and departments, as well as to reinforce the "three foundations" training, we have organized relevant experts to compile this "Guidance for Three Foundations Training of Medical Staff in Medical Institutions (Infectious Diseases Department)," as a reference book for "three foundations" training and examination assessments in various levels of infectious disease hospitals and departments.
