Features: This book is the Chinese translation of the pocket-sized "Guide to Injectable Drugs" (2005), the 13th edition of the "Handbook of Injectable Drugs" compiled by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). It provides scientifically validated information on injectable drug incompatibilities to ensure patient safety and efficacy. The content is selected from 2,480 research reports on the stability and incompatibilities of injectable drugs, comprising 134 drug topics, and is intended for pharmacists, nurses, and physicians in healthcare systems.
Intravenous administration, due to its technical and environmental requirements, is generally prepared and administered by nursing or pharmacy staff in hospitals. As early as the 1950s and 1960s, compatibility charts were hung in infusion rooms to guide the mixing and incompatibility of injectable drugs. However, in recent years, the emergence of numerous new drugs and formulations has made the compatibility of multiple drugs in prescriptions increasingly complex. The scientific and effective use of injectable drugs and rational compatibility are crucial guarantees for patient safety. There is an urgent clinical need for new injectable drug incompatibility information, but China currently lacks such reference materials. Most existing data are based on pH value calculations rather than scientific experimentation. To address this, we have collaborated with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) to translate and publish this book.
