What is the cause of blood in leukorrhea?

Patient's question:

Recently, there has always been a bit of blood in my leukorrhea. My period has already ended for a week, and I don't know what the reason is. Is there any illness?

Doctor's answer:

Leukorrhea mixed with blood can occur for two reasons: some women may have physiological mild blood streaks during ovulation or in the early stages of pregnancy. It could also be caused by endometritis. It is recommended to visit a hospital for a check-up. Endometritis can be treated with oral Hua Hong Pian, which can be taken for 2-3 courses consecutively.
Abnormal leukorrhea can be regulated with Hua Hong Pian. Hua Hong Pian is primarily used for the treatment of chronic inflammation, such as chronic pelvic inflammation, adnexitis, and endometritis. Take 4-5 tablets orally three times a day, with 7 days constituting one course. If necessary, it can be taken for 2-3 courses, with 3 days of medication-free time between each course.
